How It Works – The Magic Behind Operation KC Northpole
At Toys for Tots – Kent County DE, we believe every child deserves to wake up with joy on Christmas morning. Here’s how we make that happen:
For Families:
Eligible families can apply online for assistance starting October 1st.
Once approved, families will receive an email invitation with a scheduled time to visit our magical free toy store at the Dover Mall.
At Operation KC Northpole, parents and guardians personally select toys for their children—preserving dignity and allowing them to choose gifts they know will make their little ones light up on Christmas morning.
Each child typically receives:
For Nonprofits, Schools & Churches:
We partner with local organizations to support their holiday outreach. Toys are pre-packed based on age, gender, and need—ready for your distribution event.
We just ask that you:
-
Submit a list of children (first name, age, and gender)
-
Recognize Toys for Tots in your giveaway event
-
Encourage families to apply directly if they need more support

Together, with local businesses, churches, volunteers, and YOU, we bring the spirit of Christmas to life for thousands of children right here in Kent County.
Let’s make this season magical—together. ??

Why It Matters
This isn’t just about toys—it’s about letting children feel loved, seen, and valued, and reminding families that their community cares.
It’s about showing parents they’re not alone, that their neighbors see them and are standing beside them.
It’s about the joy of waking up on Christmas morning to laughter, wonder, and a moment of pure childhood magic.
Toys for Tots brings that magic to life—and the impact lasts far beyond December.
So grab a cup of cocoa, throw on your elf hat, and come be part of something truly special.
Because here in Kent County… we make Christmas happen—together.
“Watching the kids light up with joy is priceless—but the real gift is giving parents the dignity to pick out that special toy themselves. It turns a handout into a moment of hope.”
